POWERTHON-2.0 is a platform where the Technology Solution Providers (TSPs) can showcase technology-based solutions to the critical challenges faced by Power Utilities in India under the framework for “Promoting Advanced Technologies across the power distribution sector.
The Powerthon-2.0 will enable essential resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to transform innovative ideas into market-ready technological solutions. The successful solutions may be subsequently rolled out at a large scale, depending on the outcomes.
1. Accurate Demand/ Load Forecasting/ Power Purchase Cost Optimization:
Demand and load forecasting (including RE injection at distribution and generation level, Open Access), EV charging, Power purchase analytics, least power cost prioritization.
2. Demand Side Management:
Modifying consumer energy demand to balance the electricity supply and load on a network to help utilities defer the need for new power sources and reduce the cost of energy.
3.Improved Power Quality:
Calculation/ Monitoring of SAIFI & SAIDI considering N-1 topology, lowering fluctuations, fault prevention, Predictive maintenance, timely detection of faults, load balancing.
4. RE Integration in Distribution System:
DER sources integration, C2C energy trading, use of block chain, Consumer energy injection in LT system, automatic load shifting.
5.Energy meter recycling:
Avenues for recycling conventional energy meters, modes of disposal, environment safeguard consideration.
6. Digital Twin:
Dynamic, real-time replica of the physical distribution grid. It brings together data from various sources to provide a comprehensive view of power flows, and grid behaviors. Adoption of Distributed automation systems, IoT etc. is vital from a future perspective.
7. Smart Metering:
Viable AMI solutions for small number of consumers, Data analytics and Use cases of Smart meters for Consumers and DISCOMs.
8. Distribution Asset Management:
Monitoring and tracking of the distribution assets digitally, aging, asset maintenance, Inventory management, etc.
The key objective of Powerthon-2.0 is to create a forum for participation of Technology solutions providers, startups, educational institutions, research institute, equipment manufacturers, state power utilities and other state and central power sector entities and involve them to solve the current challenges faced across the power distribution sector using advanced emerging technologies like AI/ML, Blockchain, IoT, VR/AR etc.
Opportunity to work directly with DISCOM for their Problem Statement.
Funding support upto Rs. 57.5 Lakh per startup to be provided to the successful TSPs.
Availability of data and infrastructure/testbed from DISCOM for solving the problem
Develop, refine, and deploy cutting-edge solutions tailored to the problem areas.
Support through Proof of Concept (PoC) and pilot implementation stages.
Top 5 selected TSPs may be chosen for scale-up implementation across multiple states, leveraging a network of DISCOMs.
An additional Rs. 10 Crore reserved for scale-up implementation of promising solutions.
Opportunity of getting recognized and validated from an expert committee comprising industry and academic leaders.
TSP must be one of the following - registered company/ startup /Non startup/ Individual Innovator
TSP should be Indian Registered Company
