Awards and Accolades: SINE Startups

Ayati Devices, a medtech startup, clinched the first prize worth Rs. 50 Lakhs in the eighth edition of the Qualcomm Design in India Challenge (QDIC). The QDIC is a program run by Qualcomm to foster innovation in Indian hardware design.

Gupshup, a leading smart messaging platform, won two awards at Juniper Research's Telco Innovation Awards 2024 – a Gold Prize for the Best Conversational Commerce Solution and a Platinum Award for the Best AI Chatbot Solution.

TriNano Technologies, a solar energy startup, emerged as the Winner in the Solar materials segment, securing a prize of Rs. 10 Lakh at IEEMA Electraverse spark.
Beside these, the startup was also recognized as the 'Energy Start-up of the Year' at FICCI TNIE.

IdeaForge, an Indian drone manufacturer that is ranked fifth in the world in the dual-use civil and defense category, is making a move into the US drone industry.
Also, the company is entering into "logistics at scale" market by creating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that are capable of transporting up to 100 kg of payloads within a 100 km radius.

Professor Subhasis Chadhuri, the Director of IIT Bombay, and Professor Rahul Purwar, the founder of ImmunoACT, had a meeting with the honorable, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, President of India, to comprehend the concept of gene therapy, specifically focusing on CAR-T cell technology.

Lifespark Technologies, a medtech startup, got featured on 'Shark Tank India' and raised funds from the investor panel.

Events & Workshops

SINE participated in India International Science Festival (IISF) 2023. SINE had a stall to highlight the initiatives like NIDHI PRAYAS and Centre of Excellence. Also, SINE startups participated to showcase their remarkable development journey.

Mr. Shaji Varghese, CEO, SINE, moderated the session “Fund raising: What it is?". And, Mr. Prasad Shetty, Vice President of Portfolio & Operations, joined the panel for the session “Startup – Investor meet”.

SINE celebrated National Startup week by conducting ‘Investors Week at SINE IIT Bombay’ from 15th-19th January 2024. A pivotal event that brought together 25 investors and 35 innovative startups. The event witnessed 250 high-impact meetings, each lasting for 45 minutes. The five-day event bridged the gap between innovation and investment. SINE investing partners got a peek into entrepreneurial ecosystem in IIT Bombay and SINE startups an opportunity to network and connect with leading early-stage investors.

Boeing BUILD 3.0 program National finals was conducted in Bangalore. Seven winners were announced during the event. Glovatrix, one among the top 4 teams from Maharashtra & Goa region, supported by SINE IIT Bombay emerged one of the winners of the program.

SINE conducted two roadshows in Hyderabad and Bangalore, showcasing the International SpaceTech Startup Support program in collaboration with esteemed partners TAcc+ (Taiwan Accelerator Plus) and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). 30 startups participated in the roadshow. The events served as a platform for showcasing startups in Indian space sector to collaborate with potential international partners like the Taiwan space industry and manufacturers.

SINE conducted two days workshop on ‘Branding & Marketing’ for startups at IIT Bombay.

Mr. Balaji Chakravarthi, an expert in B2B sales and Digital Marketing, shared invaluable insights about product positioning strategies, understandings about various modes of digital marketing, sales strategies, selling processes, and the crucial aspects of segmentation and targeting the right audience.

SINE organized a workshop on "IPR: Issues & Considerations for IP Protection, Monetization, and Transaction" at SINE IIT Bombay.

Workshop was conducted by Mr. Rahul Kapoor, partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, legal firm recognized as one of the top technology deal lawyers in the world. Workshop mainly focused on discussion around monetizing IP.

SINE organized a workshop on “Overview of Medical Device and IVD Regulation in India’ at SINE IIT Bombay. The speaker, Ms. Meena Dalal, shared invaluable insights about Regulatory guidelines for medical devices in India and USFDA regulation. Also she had an one-on-one discussion with the startups regarding the clinical studies for medtech devices.

iDEX organized a "Virtual Roadshow" featuring guest speaker Mr. Anurag Kundargi to promote Defence India Startup Challenges (DISC) – 11 and ADITI 1.0. iDEX collaborated with SINE and additional incubators to conduct the roadshow.

SINE team visited to SVKM's Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy (BNCP). BNCP organized a talk “Taking early-stage ideas to market" by Dr. Pranita Phatak from SINE team. During the visit, team explored R&D infrastructure like PG labs, animal facility, and pilot plant and interacted with Professors and students seeking to pursue their own entrepreneurial endeavors.
